Growing Together in Faith

Living Our Faith

Our Catholic faith is at the very heart of everything we do and is evident as soon as you step through our doors in what you will see, hear and feel inside St. Chad's.

We all work hard to make sure that everyone is treated with care and respect. Everyone is made to feel special and helped to realise their God-given talents. Every member of our school community, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, is welcomed and valued.

Our entire curriculum and school culture is based on the teachings of Christ and children are taught to become kind, respectful, forgiving and caring young people. Great care is taken to make links between the teachings of Jesus and how we behave and treat others.

We are committed to ensuring that every child matters and that every child is safe, happy and is making progress. Positive behaviour is key to this and at the St Chad's this is based on everyone having a shared understanding of the values and relationships that are needed for children to learn well and get on with their peers and staff.

Our close link with our Parish is very important to us and our Parish Priest, Father Ambrose is supportive in fostering strong links. All of our assemblies and prayer services throughout the week are rooted in the teachings of Jesus.

We have daily acts of collective worship, assemblies, hymn practices and prayer services. Our children also pray regularly throughout the day in their classrooms. Parents are invited to join us throughout the year for special focused assemblies led by different classes.

Good pastoral care is important to developing students who demonstrate initiative and leadership, and who are able to make good decisions and take responsibility for their choices and actions. The pastoral team provides day to day and longer term support for any student who is experiencing any kind of difficulty in and beyond school. Our pastoral support system is designed to ensure that all barriers to a student’s continued wellbeing and progress are removed.
